“Amit has been my guide throughout my MBA application journey for more than a year. I reached out to him for tutoring in the Verbal section of the GMAT. From the beginning, I liked his structured approach to solving a variety of problems, which also continued into the application process for B-schools. Also, he is personally invested in your success. He will always go above and beyond what is required to help you out. Even though I worked with him only for the verbal section of the GMAT, he also directed me to invaluable resources for quant as well.
Once I cracked the GMAT, I started working with him on the applications. A couple of things, apart from his structured process, that make him stand out. First is his absolutely candid nature. He will never sugarcoat a problem and always give you the most relevant feedback in the most direct, unambiguous way. For me this stopped me from getting complacent and also motivated me to work harder. Second, his experience always shone from the way he was able to connect disparate experiences of my life from childhood, college and work, and bind them together into coherent stories with clear, overarching themes tailored to the essay at hand. There was no cookie cutter approach. In fact, when I tried to do this, in his trademark candid manner, he dissuaded me from doing so! Third, is his flexibility to accommodate tight schedules. We have worked at all times of day on every day of the week. Fourth, is that he will always encourage you to never give up. The application process is hard. When I almost gave up in between, he pushed me to continue applying. I was super happy when I finally secured multiple admits, with one of them offering me a full ride via a named merit scholarship!
I continue to rely on his guidance even though the admits are in - from pre-MBA internships to how to make the most of the B-school experience and I'm pretty confident that this relationship will last beyond B-school as well.
